Peru + Bolivia

Machu Picchu, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Salar de Uyuni — combo tour across two countries with a NOMAP tour leader

Peru and Bolivia is the brightest journey across South America: the Inca civilization, highland landscapes, the white salt desert of Uyuni, the culture of Andean peoples.

We run tours in expedition format: a small group, a carefully chosen route, altitude acclimatization, local guides in addition to the NOMAP tour leader.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When to visit Peru and Bolivia?

May-October — dry season, best overall. December-March — wet season at Uyuni (mirror effect!), but harder roads. November and April — transitional, good compromise.

How much does the Peru + Bolivia tour cost?

12-14 days NOMAP — €2,800-3,500 per person. Includes guides, internal flights, Machu Picchu, Salar de Uyuni, lodging. International flight separate.

Visa?

Peru and Bolivia — visa-free for most EU/US/UK passports up to 90 days. Check yours separately. Passport must have at least 6 months validity.

Is the altitude dangerous?

Cusco 3,400 m, Uyuni 3,656 m, lagoons up to 4,800 m. We schedule 2 days of Cusco acclimatisation before serious climbs. See altitude guide.

Is it physically hard?

Machu Picchu is an easy walk (no hike for the classic route). Salar is by jeep. The hardest part is altitude. Regular fitness + 2 days acclimatising = fine.

Is it safe?

Tourist zones in Peru and Bolivia are safe. Main risks — pickpockets in Lima/Cusco and rural roads. Guide + minivan removes most of those.

What to pack?

Layered clothing: nights sub-zero, days 20°C. Strong UV (SPF 50). Oxygen bottles (optional). Detailed packing checklist provided on tour.

Group size?

6-8 people. Sometimes two minivans.
